Tame-Care, leader of the IPCEI Health Tech4Cure
Innovative technologies serving Active Implantable Medical Devices
Tame-Care, a brand of TRONICO dedicated to active medical devices, is proud to announce its selection as a winner of the European PIIEC Health – TECH4CURE call for projects. This strategic project aims to develop an innovative technological component dedicated to transcutaneous energy transfer (TET) and biocompatible encapsulation of active implantable medical devices (AIMDs).
This technological breakthrough addresses the critical needs of medical device manufacturers by significantly improving the energy autonomy of implants while ensuring their long-term tolerance within the human body.

Technological challenges at the heart of the project
Active implantable medical devices play a central role in many therapeutic innovations but face two major challenges:
- Energy autonomy: Batteries integrated into implants have a limited lifespan, often requiring surgical interventions for replacement, which pose risks and costs for patients.
- Biocompatibility and sealing: The materials used must provide perfect protection for electronic components while preventing any adverse reactions within the body.
Tame-Care’s project proposes an integrated solution combining reliable wireless transcutaneous energy transfer with advanced PEEK encapsulation, optimized for electromagnetic wave permeability while ensuring perfect sealing. This technology will enable continuous power supply to implants and pave the way for remote maintenance and monitoring capabilities.
Strategic support from the French Government and the European Union
As a winner of the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) in the health sector, the project benefits from financial and strategic support from the French Government and the European Commission. The goal: to strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty by structuring an innovative, sovereign, and competitive health sector.
This recognition positions Tame-Care as a key player in European medtech and provides the means to accelerate the development, qualification, and industrialization of this breakthrough technology.

Innovation and Industrial Structuring Prospects
This project opens key opportunities for Tame-Care:
- Development of modular technological components applicable to a wide range of devices: neurostimulators, physiological sensors, implantable pumps, etc.
- Enhanced collaboration with AIMD manufacturers, academic, hospital, and industrial partners to ensure regulatory compliance and clinical relevance.
- Acceleration of market introduction for innovative, safe, durable, and less invasive medical solutions.
- Direct contribution to structuring a European sector that creates highly skilled jobs and carries differentiated expertise.
